Choosing Battery Connectors for PCB Mounting

Any input on battery connectors like XT connectors for 3.7V, 450 ma lipo battery. I’m looking for the smallest connector with right-angle header (possibly) to mount on a PCB. I’m comparing XT30 against JST WIRE 2 PIN Male – Female Locking appreciate it if someone used them wit lipo batteries.

If memory serves me correctly, I’ve never actually implemented a LiPo on a custom PCB. Always seems like such a pain to get the charging circuitry set up correctly, and I tend to be quite paranoid on such things.

That being said, Adafruit has a lot of LiPo-based designs that are open source I believe. Probably a good place to start. You might even be able to make your device compatible with their Feather form factor. OTOH, I don’t know how miniature their connectors are compared to others.

I feel the pain of dealing with LiPo batteries with custom. I hadn’t noticed before that Adafruit’s Feather designs address this issue for users. Drawing inspiration from Feather, I’m considering using a JST XH 2-pin SMD connector and then connecting the LiPo battery with a female header. For now, I’ve just temporarily soldered the battery to test whether the circuit works
