I assumed that if i work with a camera cmos manufacturer, they might guide me and maybe i could sell it as a product in future

Well, I think the camera manufacturer will probably want to know your volumes before really guiding you. Otherwise I think they’ll point you to a kit or to one of their partners with an off the shelf solution, which is probably the way I’d go depending what you’re trying to build/accomplish?
Check out companies like Connect Tech. They have carriers that accept popular camera boards. Might help you avoid a big design effort/headache, especially if you’re looking to do things in low-to-mid volume: https://connecttech.com/?s=camera
