Discussion on AI Tools for PCB Layout and RF Simulation

Saw this article: https://substack.com/inbox/post/158600815 about how “PCB Layout Doesn’t Need to Be Painful” – I skimmed parts of it, but the idea is that https://www.quilter.ai/ can take care of PCB routing for you. That makes me sad because I really like PCB layout, but OTOH I feel like this isn’t the first time I’ve heard of such AI software. OTOOH, if it could help me figure out and simulate RF issues and generally tell me a PCB is OK from a physics standpoint, that would be helpful for me. I’m sure there are tools out there to do so, but my expertise is limited, and seems such software packages are out of my budget anyway.

Interesting use cases were presented, and I can relate to the question about the minimum viable PCB size. Treating Quilter as a compiler is also a smart approach to avoiding design mistakes. I hope that one day an investor will offer me a blank check, just as they did for this CEOπŸ˜‰
